A host of regional media and bloggers mingled with sponsors, charity partners, artists, Bath dignitaries and event organisers at The Roman Baths for the official launch of the Minerva’s Owls of Bath sculpture trail this week.

On a bright but decidedly chilly morning, guests enjoyed a first look at the new sculptures which will adorn the streets of Bath from the end of June.

Reigning Miss Bath Amelia Watt played the role of the Roman Goddess Minerva, complete with a real Little Owl called Pip.  Minerva’s Owls of Bath is inspired by the Goddess, to whom the Roman Baths were dedicated in the 1st Century AD.

Journalists, reporters and photographers from BBC Points West, The Bath Chronicle, The Bath Magazine, Heart FM, Somerset Life, Bath & Wiltshire Parent, Bath Newseum and Bath Business.net joined top South West bloggers and instagrammers for the event.  Photographer and videographer Paolo Ferla captured the event with some great shots and footage.

Thanks to all the guests who attended.  We’ve already seen some great coverage for this summer’s trail, and lots of positive interest from potential business sponsors and artists wanting to get involved in this exciting public art event for Bath.
