H’Owl at the Moon
Sponsor: Combe Grove Manor • Artist: Catherine Beale
About the owl 'H'Owl at the moon' is inspired by the landscape and rich fauna of Combe Grove's grounds at night. When it's dark, the grass beside the drive is teaming with nocturnal wildlife - deer, rabbits, badgers and foxes' silhouettes populate the dreamy purple/blue nightscape. H'Owl at the Moon will enjoy the spectacular view out over the Midford Valley from the rear facade of the hotel. Come for tea/drinks/lunch/dinner and share it with him!
About the sponsor Combe Grove is an 18th Century Manor House set in 76 acres of woodland, perched on a hilltop on the edge of the City of Bath. The views over the Midford Valley are breath-taking, and the background noise of urban life is happily absent.
About the artist Catherine specialises in light-filled watercolours. Her painting practice began in Singapore twenty-one years ago. After her return to the UK in 2006, she opened a studio/gallery in the World Heritage City of Bath, England and now paints daily to commission and exhibition from her hillside studio nearby.
