Madame Chouette
Sponsor: Cafe Rouge • Artist: Lara Cron
About the owl A bit of French twit-woo-la-la comes to Bath! Chouette is the French word for Owl. Taking inspiration from famous French artist Toulouse Lautrec's paintings of dancers in the Moulin Rouge and recognisable Parisian architecture, artist Lara Cron has conjured up the essence of Paris in all its titillating sophistication, with tricolour wings, a pair of bright green absinthe eyes, seductive eyelashes, a rather raunchy pair of fishnets and a garter because she can-can!
About the sponsor Café Rouge was launched in 1989 with a mission to recreate real French food and drink in a Parisienne Bistro type setting and we are open all day every day from breakfast through to dinner.
About the artist Lara Cron is a British architect and artist of Italian/Austrian heritage. Using primarily acrylic on canvas, Lara’s paintings are often inspired by her profession, her love of nature and the relationship between the natural and built environment. Lara is a founding member of Keynsham Art Space and has work on display with Saatchi Gallery. She welcomes commission requests for consideration.
