Frida Owlo
Sponsors: BoA Business Bradford on Avon Town Council The Area Board • Artist: Bunny
About the owl Bunny's Frida Kahlo inspired design was chosen to celebrate Women's 100. Frida Kahlo, the Mexican artist (1907-1954) enjoyed using vibrant colours and symbolism and was also politically active, with a particular interest in women's emancipation. Look carefully at the detail and you'll see many references to the Women's 100 theme woven into the design.
About the sponsors A collaboration of independent businesses, the Town Council and the Area Board. Bradford on Avon has a year long programme celebrating the Women’s 100 and we wanted to have an owl that represented this theme. The team selected artist Bunny’s ‘Frida Kahlo’ inspired design due to the links with women’s emancipation; it seemed like a perfect fit.
