About the owl Bath Children’s Literature Festival and Emery Building Contractors have teamed up to create a head-turning design for their Festiv’Owl. It has been designed by the celebrated illustrator of the Horrible Histories books, Martin Brown, as a celebration of all things historical - Emery’s long history in Bath, the 25th anniversary of Horrible Histories (written by Terry Deary) and the 70th anniversary of Bath Festivals.
About the sponsors Emery is a Bath based building contractor undertaking work ranging from the refurbishment of listed buildings to large new build homes. The Bath Children’s Literature Festival is the biggest dedicated children’s festival in Europe, based in Bath.
About the artist Martin Brown is the illustrator of the hugely successful Horrible Histories series of books and author illustrator of Lesser Spotted Animals. He is a firm believer in art for all and an advocate of the idea that everyone CAN draw.
