The Owlery, which is part of the Bird of Prey Rescue Centre at Newton St Loe, near Bath, took delivery of their owlet sculpture this week and introduced it to some of the other Owlery residents.

Looking more like a Snowy Owl than a giant Little Owl sculpture, the owlet was introduced to Ghost and Ozzy the Barn Owls, Arwen the European Eagle Owl, Florence the Burrowing Owl, Kofi the Southern White Faced Scops Owl and Bowie the Tawny Owl.

Supervising proceedings were Owlery Trustee and Director Jay Marshall and Trustee and volunteer Naomi Johns.

The Owlery, which opened last October, offers a range of Owl and Bird of Prey encounters.  Situated just behind the Newton St Loe Farm Shop, the Owlery is an ideal destination to meet beautiful owls from around the world.  Visitors will also be able to enjoy a close encounter with their decorated owlet once all the Owls take up their perches around Bath from the end of June.

The charity’s Director, Jay Marshall, said: “We’re excited to be involved with the Minerva Owl project and looking forward to having our own decorated Owlet down at The Owlery in Newton St. Loe this summer, where it will live alongside our own parliament of over a dozen rescued owls.”
