Staff from RUH Bath’s Oncology and Therapy departments and Big Ted were delighted to meet newly hatched Owl and Owlets, which swooped into the hospital yesterday for some TLC before heading off to their artists for decoration.
70% of the profits from the auction of the large Minerva’s Owls of Bath sculptures will be donated to the Forever Friends £8.5m appeal for the RUH’s pioneering new Cancer Centre. The remaining 30% will be donated to the Bath Young Carers Centre, the Roman Baths Archway Project and the UK Little Owl Project.
There’s still time for businesses and organisations to sponsor an Owl, to include their own bespoke decoration, and to benefit from being part of this colourful, city-wide initiative.
The smaller Owlets can be sponsored by or for local schools, charities and community groups and will belong to them after the event.
